[review image] The armored vehicle conflict in Burma during WWII is not well documented in any venue that I am aware of. In fact, until this book came to my attention, I was completely unaware of any armored conflict at all. This book covers the Sherman tank in use during and after WWII in Burma. Mr. Oliver is a great author. This 32 page tome is well written, concise, and contains great photographs and graphic art. All the photographs are black and white and well defined. Also included are eight pages of color plates that are well drawn and very easy to use to detail and mark-up a Sherman of this campaign. [review image]

The book starts out with a quick introduction into and about the campaign. Mr. Oliver then moves into a discussion of the various Shermans employed by the British and Indian forces. These vehicles are both listed by British Marks and American nomenclature. Specific modifications to individual and unit level vehicles are covered in great detail. Dennis also covers the unit markings and colors that include an array of different tactical markings. A point that I appreciated was the author’s honesty where he used "best guess" techniques based on available data. The author then discusses the various Indian and British regiments that were involved in the campaign. The remainder of the book covers a knowledgeable appendix and bibliography.

I would recommend this book to any Shermanholic, anyone interested in the Burma campaign, or anyone looking to build and paint an odd Sherman tank. This book can be purchased at any good hobby shop, and online at several different locations.

Special thanks goes out to Dragon Models for the review sample and IPMS/USA for providing the venue so that others can see the review and decide if they want this book.
