Case in point: I finally get around to building a Middle East War vehicle that I want to add BShs to and no one has them. A little known history is in order here. When I first realized I only wanted to concentrate on building Middle East Wars vehicles, I tried to find as many wanted kits and after market items as were available and the wallet allowed. At that particular time, the only companies sporting these were AEF Designs and Accurate Armour. Neither of these companies sold the smoke cans as separate items. Accurate Armour's came with most of their T-34 conversions and the AEF Designs came with their Egyptian and Syrian details for T-34 kit. Both companies were pretty pricey. Then Maquette released their three T-34 Egyptian variants and they included the smoke cans also. These were two part affairs and made of plastic but were simple poorly made ideas of the BSh. Jump to the present and my search. Accurate Armour still offers the cans in their kits but AEF Designs has removed their offering. It appears that the only maker of the BSh is MIG and Hussar. MIG Productions looked very nice and simple but nobody had it. The Barrel Store had the Hussar set so I pounced on it. This simple set consists of seven finely cast resin pieces, a small PE fret, double sided one page instructions, and a short piece of metal cable. The two smoke cans have nice surface detail with no bubbles to repair. You add several pieces of the photo-etch and you got some realistic smoke cans. But wait…..the party's not over yet. You also get The SPO (an advanced cable extraction system if my sources are correct), two alternate T-34 style exhaust covers and a splash shield. All that for a mere $15.00. What a bargain. Every one of these items has excellent detail and will definitely make your Middle East Wars vehicle stand out. These can also be used completely or partly to make some "late model" additions to any T-34 series vehicle. I would like to thank Hussar for making this set, The Barrel Store for carrying it, and IPMS/USA for allowing me to share this review with fellow modelers. Go build a late model T-34 series vehicle.
